a very bad free agency contract

Ask yourself: would you rather have your team take an albotros contract that you cant move for a couple of years in exchange for a couple of years from a decent aging player. And the player sits there and wastes space. Or would you rather your team suffer through players who make the minimum for a few years and know that when you find the right guy, he will be with your team for a long while.

4 years and 15 million for a goaltender who proved he was aging in 2007 (when the Blackhawks couldn’t give him away). All this based on a Stanley Cup season a while ago and a fluky year last year.

My name is Nikolai Khabibulin and I am the newest Oiler. Hello Edmonton, I am here to stay and I am not going away.
