I think it would be a mistake, he can spell Mike Lowell or Dustin Pedroia any day of the week and he is still an average baseball player. The only reason the sox want to cut him is because he is a 9 million dollar player. Look with or without he is still a 9 million dollar player to the Sox so give him his roster spot. When Lugo was with the Dodgers he was a solid utility player (granted he hit 220 with them). He played everywhere he was asked. You never know when injuries are going to hit and you could do a lot worse than have Julio Lugo starting for you, the man is a former all star.
